Let's Talk Money...

Image
$$$ Money Money Money $$$ We live in a society where money can buy you everything you would want from name brand shoes and clothes, a big house, fast cars, power , friends, and so MUCH more. But not all of us are gifted with a great amount of wealth and so it is crucial to be smart with the money we do have at our disposal.  Let’s talk BUDGET, I know for many this can be a foreign concept as we often want to spend more than we have to buy the things we don’t necessarily need. For me personally, I learned my best budgeting tricks from by grandparents. They were SMART with their money before people really knew what that meant.  So let us begin… 1. Start by writing down your income from your job and/or other sources: -Income Some people are savvy to buy and sell things and would consider this additional income. Or maybe you walk dogs in your neighborhood, mow your neighbors lawn, drive your personal car for a taxi service su...

GOOD MORNING!!

Start Your Morning Off on the Right Foot Many of us find it hard to go through our daily tasks and chores with the right attitude. When we are living in a world surrounded by negativity, anger, hatred, and frustration. It can be challenging to see the bright side of things.  Well let me help you change that outlook, with some simple steps that have transformed my perspective of the world on a day-to-day basis. —Start your morning off with some deep breaths and stretching I used to roll out of bed and go straight to my morning bathroom routine without any thought. Finally one day I decided to change things up with a simple change. I started by slowly getting out of bed, going into my living room, and doing some simple breathing exercises while sitting or even lying on the floor. Some of you might even consider some simple yoga positions as your preferred method of stretching. —A tall glass of water I found that by simply drinking a glass of ...

April Book Review "Faithful" By: Alice Hoffman This novel is about a young woman, Shelby Richmond, dealing with some of life's hardest challenges. From family issues, friendship drama, loveless relationships, and so much more. The heart of the story takes place on Long Island while other parts play-out in Manhattan. I found the first chapter a bit depressing, I didn't even want to continue reading. But once I got over that "hump" I couldn't put it down, in fact I finished the book in ONE day. Interesting enough, I found that I could relate to parts of the storyline. As I am sure most readers could finds pieces they could see themselves going through in their own life. I was impressed with the imagery which the author included throughout the novel. The imagery was able to paint a picture in my mind which allowed the scene to play out. The author made me laugh, cry, get frustrated, and celebrate along with the characters of the book. In the en...

Happy Gotcha Day Baylee!!

Image
A year ago today, a round this time... We got YOU Baylee boo! Baylee has been our side-kick in "crime" for the past year.  It all started like this, we drove a little over an hour from New York to New Jersey to pick her up. She was playing with another dog in a kennel. She was just about four months old and full of energy. Her first night with us she chewed through a light cord. Yikes! Then it was shoe laces followed by a few pairs of shoes. She peed on her dog bed seconds after we got it into the house. The "bathroom breaks" continued to happen in our apartment. Michael and I were loosing patience but we stuck with it and she now lets us know when she needs to go out. I take her out early in the morning and Michael takes her out late in the evening. She continues to keep us on our toes and our hearts continue to melt when she comes over to cuddle with us on the couch. Baylee is friendly with everyone, maybe a bit too much, as her energetic jumping gi...

Organized for 2017 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hey everybody, I hope you are all getting set for what 2017 will hold for you personally as I know I have been busy getting ready for all the work ahead of me. And to do so, I needed to find the right tool which would allow me to flow from one task to another. This tool had to give me the ease of going from one thing to the next, without getting lost in the process. I needed to be able to carry this tool from one place to another. A tool which was useful, easy to use, while at the same time "happy" and inspired CREATIVITY.  WHAT COULD THIS TOOL BE?? I introduce you to my... HAPPY PLANNER!! Over the last few months I did some research to find the best fitting planner. Yes it took weeks as you'd be surprised at the planner options that are out there for one to choose. Now I know we are in the digital age with the technology to have a calendar in our phones, laptops, tablets, smart watches, etc. Call me "...

30 Day Minimalist Challenge Wrap-Up

Image
IT'S ABOUT TIME... We are about two weeks past due for this, I do apologize for the delayed post. But here is my input and feelings regarding the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge. I started on October 1st and finished on October 31st, an extra day didn't hurt but definitely added to the challenge. To begin with I designated a spot where I would pile things up, a simple task but had a great benefit. It made things easier as I had a place to "report" to with the items I was getting rid of along the way. I feel like without the designated spot the items would have gotten lost and possibly placed back to where they were before, especially with my husband's help, tehehe. So I picked a spot in my living, a spot I would see throughout the day, everyday! On the 1st of the month it was easy to get rid of one thing and then two on the 2nd of the month and so on. But I must be honest, I got busy a few of the days or just forgot on other days but I was sure to add extra ...
